“For he who has health has hope; and he who has hope, has everything.”

As our first Newsletter that covers almost a year of operation – This one is quite long! Be prepared. We hope you enjoy the read and get a good sense of what we have been up to. All our following monthly newsletters will be much shorter but still show what amazing work our Health HUBB is doing!
The Wits Health HUBB (WHH) is a project hosted by the DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Human Development at Wits University in Johannesburg. The HUBB was conceptualised in 2018 by Dr Lisa Ware, Dr Delan Naidoo and Mr Lethu Kapueja and begun operations in 2020 with initial seed funding from the Development Bank of Southern Africa, program specific funding from the Wits Health Consortium and the DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Human Development at Wits, plus in-kind support from Multiplex Partners and others.
It is an initiative that advocates for youth development and health promotion in Soweto and is committed to addressing socio economic barriers to health faced by young people and their respective communities.
