As health Advocates , we are required to help the community to make better health choices and live a healthy lifestyle. We always take note that we are a rainbow nation and because of that we are able to comprehend the fact that people have different beliefs from ours individually and we should always respect peoples beliefs. By understanding and respecting peoples beliefs we then stand in a better position to assist or help them discover better solutions of health.
We will impact the community one member at the time and the hope is to leave them more healthier than we met them.
About the author:
Basetsana Marumo (21) from Dobsonville is one of our 2021/2022 Health Advocates.
She says “growing up I only knew health as being a doctor or a nurse, I didn’t know there were other things”. She now realises the importance of doing regular health-checks “I’ve never done any health checks before and I now realise that high blood pressure is a silent killer, you never know whether you have it or not, so it is important for people to go for check-ups”. She believes the program has a positive impact on youth and the community, and while she’s a bit nervous to start her community health screening, she’s looking forward to applying the skills she’s learned so far.

Red
RED has the longest wavelength, in which we reflect that as the time goes on we would like people to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Deaths rates reduced to a minimum and people making good lifestyle choices.
Orange &
Yellow
ORANGE and
YELLOW are warm and vibrant coloUrs, representing good manners and enthusiasm. We are happy to do what are we passionate about and still be able to help people. We are pleased to serve and still spread good energy, respect and love to the people.
Green
GREEN
is the color of life, wealth and growth. Green represents the code we as health workers stand for, people growing healthy and strong, living a long worthy life.
Blue
BLUE represents peace and stability. We are to bring stability in the communities and peace of mind to the people knowing that they’re healthy is the color of life, wealth and growth. Green represents the code we as health workers stand for, people growing healthy and strong, living a long worthy life.
Indigo
INDIGO, the color of awareness and intuition, the promotion of new and existing diseases, giving people the information and knowledge on how to abstain, prevent and treat certain diseases and conditions. As it is said by father of medicine; prevention is better than cure!
Violet
VIOLET, the color of royalty, kindness and Transformation. Our services to the community members will feel like royalty. With all the knowledge and information we’ll be passing to people, with hope that they’ll make better health choices to reduce avoidable diseases and live a healthier longer life.
Health is also a big investment, so through this program and what it offers, we will impact the community one member at the time and the hope is to leave them more healthier than we met them.
